Thomas Stephen Rayburn

Thomas Stephen Rayburn, age 81, of Mt. Vernon, died Saturday March 6, 2010 at 7:20 AM at his residence.   He was born June 5, 1928 in Poca, West Virginia to the late Stephen T. and Eve May (Brown) Rayburn.  On November 22, 1958 he married Joyce M. Daniels and she survives. Also surviving are four children; Paul D. Rayburn of Mt Gilead, Roger L. (Kathy) Rayburn of LaRue, Doug W. (Barb) Rayburn ans Rhonda L. (Phil) Belcher of Marengo. Grandchildren; Paul (April) Rayburn Jr., Roger L. Rayburn II, Douglas Rayburn II, Phillip Belcher II, Crystal N. Belcher, Terri D. Gottfried, Jessica R. Rasey, Jennifer Rayburn and April Blanton.  Great Grandchildren; Shyanne Rasey, Steven Rasey, Katelynn Rasey, Alex Rasey, Cambria Rayburn, Logan Rayburn Skylee Gottfried, Haliana Gottfried, Mathew Mathews, Brody Blanton, Brock Blanton and Alice Brily Blanton. Brothers; Charles (Barb) Rayburn of LaRue, Frank (Sue) Rayburn of Westfield, and Ronald (Frances) Rayburn of LaRue. Sisters; Genieve Meadows of W. Va. Betty (Robert) Feught of Marysville, Rosalie (James) Sharp of Marysville, Ruth (James) Gillfillen of TN, and Patty (Donnie) Madison of Mt. Victory.  One brother Glenn Rayburn is deceased. Mr. Rayburn was an auto mechanic working for Sears for many years. He was a U S Army Veteran service during the latter part of W W II and then the Korean War. He loved fishing, hunting and music. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday March 10, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue.  Minister will be the Rev. Duane Kramer.  Burial in the LaRue Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 5to 8 PM on Tuesday. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Those who wish may make contributions to the Hospice at Knox County Hospital.
