Robert Eugene Cobb Sr. |
Robert Eugene Cobb Sr., age 81 of LaRue, died early Monday March 1, 2010 at the Kenton Nursing and Rehab. He was born September 25, 1928 in Charleston, WV to the late Zollie and Dovie (Alderman) Cobb.
On July 26, 1947 in Cattletsburg, KY he married the former Annie Catherine Hudson and she died May 19, 2003. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Geneva Blackshire, Kathleen Presley, Juanita Songer; brothers, John, Herbert, Jesse and Harvey Cobb; and an infant son, John.
He was a tow motor operator for Whirlpool for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes. Bob enjoyed spending time boating and relaxing at Indian Lake. He enjoyed reading westerns and loved dancing, especially to Country and Western.
He is survived by his children, Robert, Jr (Sally) Cobb, LaRue; Shirley (Mike) Schmelzer, Richwood ; David (Robbie) Cobb, New Bloomington; Sharon (Gary) Butler, LaRue; Richard (Deanna) Cobb, LaRue; Jeffrey (Judy) Cobb, LaRue; Sandra Smith, LaRue; Sherry (Lowell) White, LaRue; Roger (Lisa) Cobb LaRue; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Earl Richard (Lena) Cobb, Cross Lanes, WV; a sister-in-law, Marie (Deb) Graybill, New Bloomington; a brother-in-law, John Hudson, New Bloomington.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 at 6:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, LaRue where friends may call 2 hours prior to the service, Rev. Doral Sharp will officiate. Burial will take place in the LaRue Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Hardin County, 15 N. Detroit Street, Suite 4000, Kenton, OH 43326.

I took care of Bob at the nursing home. I will always fondly remember "Bob Cobb from Cobbler's Knob". Please accept my deepest condolence.

I always loved Uncle Bob! He made things so much fun for us kids when we came to visit, he always had a smile, and he would take us out on his boat. I wish I could be with you all now, as you honor your family man...He is one to be honored and my heart hurts for all of you in this, his passing.
