Elmer Allen "Whitey" Messenger
Elmer Allen "Whitey" Messenger, 77, of Marion died Tuesday morning, August 9, 2005 at Ohio Point (formerly Maplewood Nursing Center) where he has resided for the last 8 months.  He was born July 1, 1928 in Marion, OH to Owen W. Messenger and Elva Russell Messenger, both deceased.

He was formerly a Sand System Operator for Marion Power Shovel.  

He married Willa Mae Lyons, who died July 26, 1990 .

He is survived by 2 sons, Joseph and John William Messenger, both of Marion and 6 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, 1 step-son and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 12, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, Marion with Pastors Fred Buckner and Paul McKenzie officiating.  Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marion Enterprise Baptist Church.
