William Omer King

William Omer King age 87 of Richwood, died Thursday Morning December 10. 2009 at the Lima Memorial Hospital

He was born July 14, 1922 in Ostrander to the late Arthur and ImoJean (Wolford) King; he was also predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters

Omer was a retired carpenter/Millwork with the Steward Construction Company in Marion for 28 yrs., he was also an active member of the Community United Calvary Church where he had served as a deacon, he was also very active and had helped start the former Union County Civil Defense (Now EMA), he was also a scout master for many yrs.

On June 6, 1942 in Greenup, Ky. He married Clara Ella (Jerew) and she died June 3, 2005
Surviving are 2 sons: Larry King of Columbus and Ronald (Teresa) King of Lakeview and 1 daughter: Sharon (Timothy) Landon of Lakeview
5 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren
2 brothers: Clyde (Betty) King of Lewisville, Melvin King of Columbus, 1 sister: Irma Jean Fancey of Marysville

Funeral Services will be held Monday December 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, where friends may call Sunday from 5-7 pm, Dean Henderson will officiate, burial will be in the Price Cemetery

May the Lord our God envelope you in His grace and ease your burdens during this time of great sorrow. Omer was one of my Dad's good friends, whom Dad had a great deal of respect for and comradery with. He was a wonderful person who always had a kind word for me and I'm sure others. Our sympathies are with you and may you find relief knowing that Omer has gone on to a life of happiness and joy with Jesus, and will be reunited with his loving wife. Most sincerely Dirk & Gina

We have truly lost a wonderful man. Not only was he a caring person but he had a wonderful sense of humor. My condolences to the family. You are all in my thoughts.

I am truely sadden to hear of the loss of Omer. Since my youth, I remember him as a kind man, always willing to lend a hand to anyone. Most of all, I will remember his laugh and the smile that came with it.

I'm sorry and surprised to hear of Omer's passing. My cousin, Janet Dysert, and I had just spoken to him recently in the restaurant when we saw him with Dawn. Our prayers are with your family at time.

We always enjoyed our backyard/fence talks with Omer. He and Clara were the best neighbors. God bless and keep you in His Grace.

I am saddened at hearing of Omer's passing. He and his wife were good friends of my father and mother. My condolences and I regret your loss.
