First of all I would like to express my sympathy at your loss. I know Ron loved all of you so much and was extremely proud of his kids and grandkids.
I miss Ron being here daily. I didn't know how much easier he made my life at work until he retired. There are still people that ask "What happened to the 'big guy' that used to load?"
Ron used to 'sucker' me into betting a pop on how many tons he loaded into a truck. It started off 1500 lbs either way of whatever he thought was on the load. We had to lower that down to 500 lbs once we got the scales in the loader. Of course I had the upper hand because I would see the tonnages from the previous loads for the day and know if he was hitting them close or not, but I still probably bought him as many as he bought me. I can still see him shaking another little bit out of his bucket because he was trying so hard to win.
It was a very nice write up in the Marion Star and made me smile remembering the stories he told of his grandchildren and fishing. I'm sure John already had the cabin opened up and the boat ready so they could get out on the lake as soon as Ron arrived.
