Dear Family,

I just wanted you to know Martha was my first grade teacher at Glenwood Elementary School (1945). In my opinion she was the best teacher I ever had during all my years of education. She was alway loving and kind to all her students, especially my sister Shirley and me. I want to express my sincere sympathy at the loss of your mother. I will never forget her!

Dear Family of Mrs. Vermillion,
At 49 yrs of age the only teacher I can say truely touched my life was, Mrs. Vermillion. She was my kindergarten teacher and my 3rd grade teacher. My parents divorced when I was in 3rd grade and I had some difficulties in dealing with it. I just remember the hugs I received from her on a daily basis during those times. I dont recall alot of words, just hugs and that is what I needed at the time. The saying of sometimes actions speak louder than words certainly played a part in my life. What a great woman, but what a great place she is in.My thoughts and prayer are with you.

Dear Vicki, Larry and families,
It was with much sadness that I learned of Martha's passing.
I remember her with much love. If there were ever just a few words to describe Martha it would be "a beautiful lady, inside and out". We taught third grade in side by side classrooms at Oakland School. I learned much from Martha as we shared ideas and students. She had so much to give and she certainly shared her time and talents with others her whole life. She will be sorely missed.
Sincerely,
Donna Lawrence

My condolences to the family of Mrs. Vermillion. I had her when I was in third grade at Oakland Elementary in probably 1973. She was a wonderful, remarkable, human being. My fondest memories of Oakland are in her classroom. She loved the piano and when one of my classmates mothers would come in and play on holidays,(Mrs. Dendinger) Mrs. Vermillion would cry. :) It made her so happy and she was wonderful to her students. You should be very proud of your mother she brought alot of happiness to a childs world. !! She will definately be missed!!

Vickie, I was so sorry to hear of your mother's death.  I remember her as one of the Oakland congregation who helped me find my way to be a Christian.  She was a great teacher, and a good friend.  Thank you for sharing her with all of us who needed a Christian role model and a teacher.  May God hold your family close, especially during this time of missing her, and may He always bless all of you.

Dear Vicki and Larry and family,
I am currently in Fla. for 3 months (in Ft. Myers)
and read about your mother. What a sweetheart. I will always have fond memories of her at your house on Sheriden Rd. and the church parties we had there.
She was so kind and such a giving person.  She always remembered my Mom & Dad and looked after Mom when she was homebound with MS.

Your mother will have a special place in heaven with all the other saints!!
My family (Les, Rod, and Rose) send our heart-felt sympathy to you.
Love, Marge

I have so many fond memories of Martha while growing up on Sheridan Rd. She was a terrific neighbor and I also had her as a 3rd grade teacher. I spent many days at her house or at Oakland helping her. The funniest thing I can remember happening to Martha was when Vicki, Matt, & Emily were living there while they were building a house. Emily was their St. Bernard and Martha would go out and try to feed or pet her and she was just so big and wanting to play, would knock Martha down. Martha would get back up and go right back to Emily, she was such a fun loving dog. Martha, Vicki, Matt, & Michele will always have a special place in my heart.

Vicki; I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. We only get the paper on Saturday and Sunday so I did not hear of her going to be with Jesus.I saw your mother's name on the board in front of the church and checked the obituaries. That is how found out about her passing.    If I had read of it; I certainly would have come to the visiting hours. God's peace and comfort to you in your time of grief. Paul said that" we do not mourn as those who have no hope".We will see her again. Jon Eager
