Rosella S. Climer
Rosella S. ClimerNavyNurseCorpsRosella Susan Climer, age 94, of LaRue, died Wednesday July 16, 2008 at 2:55 AM at Marion General Hospital.

She was born August 31, 1913 in Vernon, CT to the late Frank and Dora (Green) Miffitt.  On November 23, 1940 she married James Elwood Climer and he died June 24, 1985.

She was a Registered Nurse. Attended St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, CT.  She later worked as a general duty nurse at Dearborn Medical Center Hospital and also was head nurse at central supply at Springfield City Hospital. She also served in the U S Navy in the Navy Nurse Corps between the years 1936 to 1941. She was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaRue.

She is survived by one daughter-in –law Cynthia R. Climer of LaRue, Two grandchildren; Michael J. Climer of Richwood, and William R. (Kirsten Kerr) Climer of Columbus, one Great Granddaughter; Charley Michelle Climer.  Special friend Sandra Campbell of Richwood.   Brothers and sisters surviving are Joseph T. (Mary) Miffitt of Ellington, CT, Irene (Robert) Sherman of Albuquerque, NM, Julius J. Miffitt of Ellington, CT, Lillian (Ed) Robb of Fountain Valley, CA, and Mae (Victor) Lemieux of S. Windsor, CT.  Sister-in-law Ann Miffitt of Tolland, CT, Hazel Miffitt of Ellington, CT.  

Preceded in death by one son; Robert J. Climer, Brothers and Sisters; Francis F. Miffitt, Michael Miffitt, Doris (Sim) Luhrsen, George Miffitt, Albert (Lois) Miffitt, and Elmer Miffitt.

Funeral Services will be held Friday July 18, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue.  Minister will be Fr. Joshua Wagner.  Burial in the Somerford Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue one hour before service time on Friday.

Those who wish may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Hi Cindy and family,  We are sorry for your loss and grateful that we got to see Rose in June! I've never met a sweeter person and now she is   at peace with Bob.  Caring thoughts are with you today and always...Love Christy, Eddie,and girls

I was sorry to learn of your mother-in-law's passing.  She lived a long, full life and was fortunate to have your loving care in doing so.  I
