William Ferris
William FerrisWilliam Edmond Ferris, age 78, of LaRue, died Thursday July 3, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Marion Manor in Marion, Ohio.

He was born May 3, 1930 in Curtis, Oklahoma to the late Harry and Clara (Haskew) Ferris.  On September 7, 1957 he married Dorothy Bosh and she survives. Also surviving is one daughter; Jill L. Ferris of LaRue, two sons; William E. (Betty) Ferris of Folsom, California and Randy E. Ferris of LaRue. Two Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Two sisters; Edna Kehrer of Pennsylvania and Marie Hudson of North Carolina.  He was preceded in death by one brother; Harry Ferris Jr. and one sister; Ida Margaret Ferris.

Mr. Ferris worked as a sheet metal worker for Marion Power Shovel, then for Acrux Investigation Agency as a Security Guard at Honda.  He served in the military, first in the U S Navy from May 6, 1947 to Sept. 20, 1949 then in the Navy Reserve till Dec.20, 1950. He then went into the U S Marine Corps from 1950 to April 30, 1968.  He enjoyed his cats, westerns, crossword puzzles, gardening, eating out, and spending time with his family.

Graveside Services will be held Monday July 7, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the LaRue Cemetery.  Minister will be the Rev. John J. Bradley.  There will be no  calling hours.  The Stofcheck-Ballinger  Funeral Home  in LaRue is in charge of arrangements.

Those who wish may make contributions to the Marion County Humane Society.

Dear Jill and family,
I was so sorry to read of your dad's passing. I was your teacher at Elgin West many years ago. One thing I do remember is that your parents were always very proud of you. Please know you are in my daily thoughts and prayers.
