Robert LeRoy Kale
Robert LeRoy KaleFlagRobert LeRoy Kale of rural Richwood, passed away peacefully, Monday morning May 5, 2008, with his devoted family by his side at home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1930, near LaRue, to the late Foster "Bus" and Ferol (Denman) Kale.

Bob was a 1948 graduate of the Richwood High School, veteran of the Korean War having attained the rank of sergeant in the Army. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Marion

Bob, as he was known by his friends and family, was a lifelong farmer and was a tow motor operator at the Whirlpool Corporation in Marion for over 35 years of dedicated service
His pastimes, included playing fast pitch softball for Essex, dart ball for the Essex United Methodist Church and pitching horseshoes. He loved showing steers himself at the Richwood Fair and later teaching his daughters and grandsons the "fine art of grooming and showing steers". Bob loved attending his daughters sporting events, never being able to take enough pictures and attending his grandchildren's sporting events, rarely missing a single one no matter how far he had to drive.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Pauline L. (Toombs) Kale; and their three daughters, Kandy L. (Daniel) Lahut of Marion, Tracey L. (David) Hollenbaugh of Glastonbury, Conn. and Stephanie Kale of Richwood; six grandchildren, Robert J. Lahut of U.S. Air Force, Iraq, Thomas A. Lahut of the U.S. Air Force, Ryan D. and McKenzie L. Hollenbaugh of Glastonbury, Conn. and Spencer M. Pierce and Stephen A."Alex" Pitchford of Richwood.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2008. Pastor Mark Aills will officiate. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery, where there will be veteran graveside services conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.

Memorial Gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dear Pauline and Family,
I'm sure you won't know me but my grandmother was Mollie Rebecca Kale Converse. My dad, Earnest Converse, was a cousin to Bus Kale and spoke so highly of him and his family. We know that Bob was a great family man. We send you our love and our sympathy.

Thanks for calling.  We were sorry about Bob, but know that God has plans for him.  May God wrap his loving arms around you and your family in this time.  I thought Ed told me Wed. at Richwood, my prayers are with you.
Joan and the Plaza gang will miss Bob.
