Blaine Edward Rose
Blaine Edward RoseBlaine Edward Rose, 77, of Prospect, died Friday morning, May 2, 2008 at Marion General Hospital.  He was born February 27, 1931 in Elton, PA to the late Benjamin F. and Minnie Pearl (Unstead) Rose.

On May 6, 1950 in Rawlings, Maryland he married the love of his life, Mildred Emma Foltz.  She passed away July 19, 2007.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Cardington, St. Mary Church in Marion and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 376 in Delaware.  Blaine loved hunting and fishing.  He was affectionately known as “Peanut” and “Rosebud” by his co-workers at Marion Power Shovel where he had worked for over 40 years.

He is survived by two sons, Ed (Agnes) Rose, Prospect; Ben (Bridget) Rose, Prospect; four daughters, Joyce (Tammy) Rose, Marion; Diane (Joe) Lloyd, Marengo; Trudy (Levi) Beltz, Newark; Sue (Michael) Rose, Worthington; a brother, Calvin (Ruth) Rose, Sycamore; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; longtime friends, Ora and Tina Fitch, Marion and Ray and Barb Mobley, Prospect.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect with Rev. Mike Nimocks officiating.  Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM on Monday.
