Gladys Alberta Tucker

Gladys Alberta Tucker, age 84, of LaRue, died Monday April 28, 2008 at 2:45 AM at Marion General Hospital.

She was born May 5, 1923 in Akron, Ohio to the late Albert A. and Gladys (Morgan) Smyers. On July 28, 1946 she married Elbon V. (Tom) Tucker and he died February 1, 2000.

She was a bookkeeper for Imperial Industrial Sales in Akron, served in the U S Navy as an aviation machinist mate during WWII. Also served on the LaRue Village Council, member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, and member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Akron for more than 30 years.

She is survived by two daughters; Pamela A. (Jay) Murphy of Las Vegas, Nevada and Carol A. (James) Thompson of LaRue. One Son Tommy Tucker. Four Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren. One sister Esther Day is deceased..

Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 3, 2008 at 3:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Daniel Kiger. Burial in the LaRue Cemetery where there will be Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Marion Area Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 1 to 3 PM on Saturday.
