Bruce E. Morse
Flag Bruce E. Morse age 85 of Marion and formerly of Richwood, died Sunday evening October 28, 2007 at the Marion General Hospital.  He was born Nov. 12, 1921 in Morrow County to the late Frank and Rilla (Benedict) Morse.

He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps.  He retired in 1984 after 42 ½ years of service with Tecumseh Products in Marion as a machinist.

He was a current member of the Abundant Life Assembly Church in Marion and former member of the Rush Creek (formerly Essex) United Methodist Church and former member of the Marion Senior Center.  He was a gentle man who was loved by his family and friends and he will be sadly missed.

On April 19, 1946 in Marysville, he married Kathryn D. (Slemmons) and she survives.  Also surviving are 3 sons, Mauri Ray (Jackie) Morse of Marion; Patrick Jay (Marilyn) Morse of Richwood; Michael Scott Morse of Columbus; 4 grandchildren, Barbara (Leslie) Phillips of Cleveland; Brent (Brenna) Morse of Delaware; Jillian Morse of Leesburg, Florida; Jason Morse of Marysville; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene (Betty) Slemmons of Prospect; Glen (Vonie) Slemmons of Caledonia; Lynn (Helen) Slemmons of Prospect.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lawrence, Charles and Herb Morse; 1 sister, Grace Morse and 1 brother-in-law, Dale Slemmons.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Douglas Ford officiating.  Burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery where military honors will be provided.  Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday at the Abundant Life Assembly Church in Marion and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Katie, So sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. You both were such inspirations to me (and daughters Anne & Kathleen) when we attended Essex Church together.I remember how everyone loved Bruce's butterscotch pies! Love & Blessings, Barbara Williams
