 The Rev. John W. Obee, 82, of Scoring, formerly of Richwood, died Tuesday,
July 27,1993, at Crandall Geriatrics in Scoring after having been in failing health for two years. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Delaware, a graduate of Adrian College in Adrian, Mich., and a member of Richwood Lions Club and Mt Carrnel Lodge #303 F&AM. He was bom April 2,1911, in Whitehouse to the late Ernest L and Charlotte C. Shields Obee. He married Mary J. Cheney in 1939 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 1988. He was also predeceased by a sister. He is survived by two sons, Ronald L. of Lake Mary, Ha., and Robert W. of Hudson; two daughters, Juanita A. Obee of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Joyce C. Sailer of Jonesboro, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Stade of Escanaba, Mich., and Olive Newton of Honolulu, Hawaii. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Price Cemetery in Richwood with the Rev. Alan Kimber officiating. Friends may call at the Ballinger-Peppard Funeral Home Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Obee Memorial Scholarship fund at Adrian College.
