Henry Lauer, Jr. 70, died at his home Thursday. August 5, 1993 Following a brief illness. The retired accountant from LSY currently worked part-time for Holbrook, Manter. Nichols & Rogers Accounting in Marion. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Verne I. Mounts American Legion Post. The World War II veteran was born July 4, 1923. son of The late John Henry and Florence Stark Lauer. September 1, 1946 he married the former Betty C. Caudill. who preceded him in death on March 27, 1981. Surviving are two daughters: Mary Lou Lauer of Iowa City, IA and Jean Lauer of Portland, Or; two sons, Greg and Scott, both of Waldo and two grandchildren. Memorial services were held Monday, August 5 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with David Nevergull officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery, where Prospect American Legion was in charge of military rites, Gehm-Ballinger-Peppard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Battle Run Emergeney Squad and Fire Department.
