Paul David Yates
FlagPaul David Yates, 57, of Prospect died Friday, March 19,1993, at Marion
General Hospital after having been in failing health for a year.
He was a co-owner and president of Hercules Industries in Prospect He was a
veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Eagles Lodge #337 of Marion
and Moose Lodge #1167 of Delaware.
Bom in Chesapeake on Sept 25,1935, he was the son of Forest R. Yates and
the late Garnet M. Evicks Yates Massie. His father survives in Marion. He is
also survived by a stepmother. Hazel Yates and a stepfather, Ernie Massie, both
of Marion.
He married Virginia Griffith on Nov. 12,1958, in Rhode Island and she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Julie Yates of Prospect; a son, David
Yates of the home; two sisters, Cora Thomas of Kenton and Diane Yates of Marion;
and three brothers, Ernie Lee Massie, Walter Yates and Forest Ray Yates,
all of Marion.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Gehm-Ballinger-Peppard
Funeral Home in Prospect, with interment at Prospect Cemetery. The Marion
American Legion was in charge of graveside military services. There were no
visitation hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to tlic American Lung Association,
1700 Arlingate Ave., Columbus, OH 43228.
