| Iva Edith (Hughes) Hempy,77,of Waldo died Thursday, March 11,1993. at
Eastlawn Manor in Marion after having been in failing health for several years. She was a retired cutter at the former Plastic Film Corporation in Marion and was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion. She was born Feb. 6,1916, in Mason County, W. Va., to the late Miles B. and Gertrude Craig Hughes. She married Charles W. Hempy on March 12,1934, in Delaware and he preceded her in death on March 22,1989. She was also predeceased by a son, two daughters and a brother. She is survived by two sons, Paul E. Hempy of Prospect and Robert James Hempy of Waldo; two daughters, Ethel Ghoulson of Bucyrus and Dixie Dienst of Delaware; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Haskell Hughes and Junior Hughes of Marion, Ruffes Hughes of Prospect and Carl Hughes of North Carolina; and a sister, Oma Chappell of Marion. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Gehm-Ballinger- Peppard Funeral Home in Prospect with the Rev. Monty Kaufman officiating. Interment will be at the Waldo Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
