William Evans Carr
FlagWilliam Evans Carr, 70, of Richwood
died Saturday, Jan. 16,1993, at
Marion General Hospital after having
been in failing health for several
years.
He was a farmer and was retired
from the Quaker Oats Company after
17 years of service. He was a member
of Zion United Church of Christ in
Prospect, a member of the Farm Bureau
and a World War II veteran of the
Merchant Marines.
He was born July 22,1922, in Union
County to Arthur Glen and Florence
Ophal Teets Carr and they preceded
him in death. He married Mary
E. Sours on April 27,1946, in Marion
and she survives. He is also survived
by a daughter, Judy Can of Marion;
three sons, LeRoy of Marion and Fred
and Gary, both of Prospect; seven
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Samuel
(Kalhryn) Lauer of Prospect,
Mrs. Marilyn Smith of Caledonia;
three brothers, Robert L. and Ron A.
of Prospect arid Paul A. of Bucyrus.
Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. Wednesday at Zion United
Church of Christ with the Rev. Robert
Airhart officiating. Interment will be
at Prospect Cemetery. Friends may
call at the Gehm-Ballinger-Peppard
Funeral Home in Prospect from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Zion United Church of
Christ, the American Heart Association
or the Parkinson's Foundation
