James Reece Hoffman
4-HJames Reece Hoffman, 79,
died at his rural Richwood
residence Wednesday morning,
Feb. 15, 1995. He had been in failing
health for two years.
The area farmer was a
member of York United
Methodist Church, Union County
Coonhunters Club, served as
ASC Central Committeeman,
and was a former school board
member at Jackson. York, and
Byhalia. He was very active in
the 4-H program, and was an
advisor for the Young Yankee
Yorkers for 32 years.
The Jackson Township native
was born October 5, 1915, son
of Edgar and Daisy Reece Hoffman.
March 16. .1938, he married
tho former Ruth Morrison.
Surviving are his wife, sons
Jerry of Raymond and Thomas
of near Richwood; a daughter
Joyce Lydic of Raymond; 8
grandchildren; 9 greatgrandchildren;
sisters Ruth
Greenwood of Marion, Winifred
Blue of Mt. Gilead and JoAnn
Heller of LaRue and a brother
Paul of near Richwood.
Rev. William Goff conducted
funeral services Saturday, Feb.
18 at Ballinger Funeral Home.
Interment was in York
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may
be made to the American
Cancer Society.
