Craig Allen Cooley
The OSUCraig Allen Cooley, 26, of near
Mt. Victory, died Friday, June
14, 1996 from injuries sustained in a
two-vehicle accident in Franklin
County.
The 1987 valedictorian of
North Union High School was
valedictorian of the 1991 class
at Denison University where he
earned his Bachelor's Degree.
He received his Master's
Degree at The Ohio State University
and was a PhD candidate for
Bayseian Statistics at Ohio
State University where he was
involved in research.
He was a member of various
honorary fraternities including
Phi Beta Kappa and had accepted
a Professorship at
Carlton University in Minnesota.
The Hardin County native was born August 12, 1969, son of
Jerrold L. Cooley of Mt. Victory and Cheryl L. Staley Cooley of
Marysville.
Surviving besides his parents are two brothers, Eric and Shawn,
both of Mt. Victory; grandparents Walter and Frances Staley of
West Mansfield and Virginia Cooley of Mt Victory; two uncles
Merrill (Beverly) Staley of West Mansfield and Carrol Cooley of
Clyde; an aunt, Sharon Kelley of Marysville, and a great-aunt,
Donna Ruhl, West Mansfield. His grandfather George Cooley
preceded him in death.
The Rev. William J. Goff officiated funeral services Monday,
June 17 at Ballinger Funeral Home. Burial was at Byhalia
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Union
Scholarship Fund.
