Charles Butler Rowland
FlagCharles Butler Rowland, 74, of Rainbow City, Ala., formerly of York Center,
died Thursday, Feb. 1, 1996, at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Ala.
He was a material expediter at the Newark Air Force Base. He was a World
War II Army veteran and a member of the VFW and McKinnley United
Methodist Church.
He was born Aug. 9, 1921, in Union County to the late Oscar J. and Laura
Lyona Jackson Rowland. He married Wilma Christine Hogue and she died
Feb. 11, 1995.
He is survived by a son, Donald Rowland of York Center, a daughter, Bonnie Carol (Daniel Timothy) lull Lee of Rainbow City; five grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther M- Glassburn of Marysville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ballinger Funeral
Home. The Rev. Barb Stevens will officiate and interment will be at the York
Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Ballinger
Funeral Home in Richwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association,
the American Heart Association or the Lions Eye Bank.
