Carroll Clair "Pickle" White, 66, of Prospect died Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997,
at his home after a brief illness.
He was retired from the electronics department at Whirlpool after 36 years
and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Verne
I. Mounts American Legion Post 368.
He was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Claibourne Township to the late Hamilton
and Jennie Phelps Newman.
He married Geraldine M. "Gerry" Landon Feb. 6, 1954, in Prospect and
she survives. He is also survived by three daughters. Debbie (Rick) Varner,
Tammi (Harry) Hilgenberg and Vicky (Rick) Carey of Prospect; and five
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Prospect Baptist
Church. The Rev. Rob Schlatter will officiate and burial will be at the
Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the
Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Marion General Hospital
or the American Cancer Society
