Francis H. "Jack" Cloud
FlagFrancis H. "Jack" Cloud, 75, of near Prospect died unexpectedly Wednesday,
April 30, 1997, at McGruder Hospital in Port Clinton.
He was the retired owner of the C & H Floor Company. A Marine veteran of
World War II, he was a member of Verne I. Mounts American Legion Post
368 and VFW Post 870. He was a member of the Prospect United Methodist
Church, Prospect Lodge 444 F&AM and Delaware Moose Lodge 1167.
He was born Oct. 16,1921, in Oallia County to the late Harold L. and Garnet
C. McMillin Cloud. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Maxwell Cloud, whom he married Feb. 3,
1990; two daughters, Carol Schrote of Prospect and Robin Cloud of Columbus;
a son, James Cloud of Prospect; two step-daughters, Sandy Li of Springfield
and Sally Selong of Bay Village; four grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren;
four step-grandchildren; a brother, Robert S. Cloud of Challis,
Idaho; and two sisters, Lois Mitchell of Radnor and Rose Ann Long of Titusville,
Fla. .
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Prospect United
Methodist Church. The Rev. David L. Hoffman will officiate and burial will
be at 5 p.m. at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Athens County, where graveside
military services will be held. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday
at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect where a Masonic service
will be held at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Battle Run Emergency Squad
and Fire Department.
