James G. Pitts
FlagJames G. Pitts,76,of Richwood died Wednesday, Jan. 22,1997, at Marion
General Hospital after an illness of 10 days.
He was a machine operator at Quaker Oats and was a member of .the Richwood
First Baptist Church. He was a World War I Air Force veteran.
He was bom Jan; 12,1921, in Greenup, Ky., to the late Adam and Goldie
Frazier Pitts. He was predeceased by a son, Cable "Bozo" Pius; two daughters,
Paula Irene Pitts Price and Ruthie Kay Pitts; three brothers and a sister.
He married Ruby Mae Clark Feb. 17,1946, in Kentucky and She survives.
He is also survived by three daughters, Goldie Gale Hensley of Marion, Mary
Tanner of Marysville and Ruby Fay Gwynn of Richwood; a son, Glenn Pitts of
Marion; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Adree Roberts
of South Shore, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ballinger Funeral
Home. The Rev. Mike Hensley will officiate and burial will be at the Claiboume
Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by
Richwood VFW Post 870 and Richwood American Legion Post 40. Friends
may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral
home.
