Ruth Alice Gix-Bricker
EasternStarRuth Alice Gix-Bricker, 83, of Prospect, died Sunday, Feb. 22 1998 at
Marion General Hospital.
She was retired as the executive secretary to the superintendent of the
Elgin School District and had been an accountant at Grange Mutual Insurance
Company. She was a graduate of Prospect High School and Bliss College
in Columbus and was a member of the Prospect United Methodist
Church, Searchlight Literary Club, Gardeners of Prospect, Bethlehem
Grange and Prospect Chapter 69 Order of the Eastern Star
She was born Oct. 13, 1914, near Prospect to the late Charles D. and Alice
I. Bender Mehaffey and was predeceased by two sisters and a son, Ronald
Joseph Gix She was predeceased on Jan. 30, 1953, by her first husband
Harold W. Gix whom she married Aug. 30,1936, and on March 10 1990 by
her second husband, Beaver M Bricker whom she married Nov. 99 1939
She is survived by two sons, Harold Richard Gix and Donald Joseph Gix
of Prospect; two stepdaughters, Jean Massimi of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lynn
Ruth of Green Camp; a brother, Charles E. Mehaffey of Prospect; and nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Prospect United
Methodist Church. The Rev. David L. Hoffman will officiate and burial will
be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m
Tuesday at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect United Methodist
Church or Battle Run Fire Department and EMS.
