Brother Hayden D. Hay
FlagBrother Hayden D. Hay, 77, of Lockbourne died unexpectedly Sunday,
Oct. 18, 1998, at Pike Community Hospital in Waverly.
He was a retired barber and minister of the Enterprise Baptist Association.
He was a member of Straight Creek Enterprise Baptist Church near Omega.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart
and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Greenup, Ky., to the late John Hayden and
Emily Dell Pennington Hay and was predeceased by several brothers and a
sister.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Jane Harraman Hay whom he married
Jan. 5, 1946; a son, John Hayden Hay of Sunbury; four daughters, Bonnie
(Charles) Hartle of Dublin, Carolyn (Daryl) Green of Grove City and Alona
Hay and Diana (Samuel) Ruck of Groveport; eight grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren;
and a brother, Ova Paul Hays of Waverly.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ballinger
Funeral Home in Richwood and burial will be at the Price Cemetery. Friends
may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
