George Elsworth Kersey
FlagGeorge Elsworth Kersey, 75, of Marion died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998 at
Marion Manor.
He was a self-employed farmer and truck driver. An Army veteran of
World War II in the European Theater, he was a life member of American
Legion Post 584 and Stephen J. Cheney VFW Post 7201.
He was born April 11, 1923, in Marion to the late Clarence E. and Grace
Jacobs Kersey and was predeceased by a sister, Ann Cooke.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Stolter whom he married Sept. 9,
1951, in Marion; a son, Geoffrey E. (Ginger) Kersey of Marion; two granddaughters,
Angela Kersey (Joshua) Ford and Autumn Kersey; a great-grandson,
Joshua Ford; and a brother, Lawrence Kersey of Marion.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
The Ballinger Funeral .Home in Richwood is in charge of arrangements.
