John William Baird
John William Baird, 79, of Marysville died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at
Riverside Methodist Hospital after an illness of four months.
He was a farmer and a member of the Richwood First Baptist Church,
Gideons International and the Ohio Farm Bureau. He was a past president of
the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association.
He was bom May 1, 1920, in Zanesville to the late William and Viola
Kreager Baird and was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Brown; and three
half-brothers, Allen Harrigan, Ed Harrigan and Tom Harrigan. He married
Helen Zimmerman Nov. 30, 1941, and she died Dec. 24, 1998.
He is survived by a son, David (Sheryl) Baird of Richwood; two daughters,
Cynthia (Tom) Lewis of Richwood and Barbara (Harley) Hanna of
Zanesville; 12 grandchildren, Natalie Baird, Angela Baird, Lucas Baird, John
Lewis, David Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Benjamin Lewis, Peter Lewis, Rachel
Lewis, Caleb Hanna, Lauren Hanna and Andrew Hanna; and a sister, Jean
Ellis of Louisville., Ky.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Richwood First Baptist
Church. The Rev. Barb Stevens will officiate and burial will be at the
Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday
at the Baliinger Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International in care of
the funeral home.
