 Freda Marie Kempton, 87, of Prospect died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000 at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation in Marion.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Prospect Baptist Church and the church Ladies Circle, American Baptist Women's Ministries of the Prospect Baptist Church and Prospect Senior Citizens. She was also a 68-year member and Past Worthy Matron of Mt. Carmel Chapter 53 Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine. She was born August. 10, 1913 in Prospect to the late William and Hannah Downs Hull and was predeceased by a sister, Esther Hull LeMasters. She married Orvel A. Kempton Jan. 13, 1943 in Prospect and he died Dec. 16, 1991. She is survived by a son, William (Janet) Kempton of Marion and three grandsons, Michael Kempton and Todd Kempton of Hilliard and Mark Kempton of Marion. Funeral services were held at 1 PM Wednesday at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect. The Revs. Steven Bothe and Steven Roper will officiate and burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 Pm today and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Eastern Star Services were held at 8:30 PM Memorial contributions may be made to the Central ohio Diabetes Association or Gideons International in care of the funeral home.
