LeRee Maybelle Gearhiser
LeRee Maybelle Gearhiser, 83, of Radnor died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at
Grant Medical Center after a short illness.
She attended the Office Training School in Columbus and was employed
at the Delaware County Courthouse fromn 1955 to 1972. She was a member
of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Prospect.
She was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Delaware County to the late LeRoy A. and
Tula 0. Clymer Demorest and was predeceased by a sister, Irene
Almendinger. She married Claire Nelson Gearhiser April 9, 1939, and he
died in 1982.
She is survived by two sons, H. Richard (Ruth) Gearhiser of Radnor and J.
Charles (Deborah) Gearhiser of St. Joseph, Mich.; a daughter, Constance B.
(James) Janks of Prospect; eight grandchildren, Susan Gearhiser, Matt
Gearhiser, Bethany Gearhiser, Michael Gearhiser, Nathan Tribble, Sonja
Ruth, Michael (Teresa) Janks and Melissa (Joe) Szablewski: five greatgrandchildren;
two brothers, Donald Demorest of Waldo and Harold Dernorest
of Ashley; and a sister, Loma Kraner of Frankenmuth, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran
Church in Prospect. The Rev. Stephen S. Bull will officiate and burial will be
at the Waldo Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church in care of the funeral
home.
