| Lawrence William "Coxie" Weiss, 90, of Haines City, Fla., died Saturday,
May 13, 2000, at his home. He was a farmer and a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church and Marion Moose Lodge 889. He served 12 years on the Marion County Election Board, 16 years as a Pleasant Township Trustee, 15/2 years as chairman of the Marion County Democrats and eight years on the Marion Softball Commission. He was born July 7, 1909, in Marion County to the late Joseph and Estella Garrett Weiss. He married Margaret B. Loy Aug. 19, 1967, and she died Feb. 14, 1997. The Rev. David Hoffman officiated at private cremation graveside services which were held Tuesday at the Claridon Cemetery. This is archival information that was taken from (perhaps old) paper documents.
