Verna Jean Southward, 45, of New Bloomington died Saturday, July 28,
2001, at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a short illness.
She was a home health assistant.
She was born Aug. 6, 1955, in Delaware to the Wayne and Ilene Yost
Ruby.
She is survived by her parents of Marion; her husband, James Southward
whom she married June 9, 1973, in Prospect; a son, J?mes (Sherri) Southward
Jr. of Gahanna; two daughters, Wenetta (Michael) of New Bloomington
and Sabrina Southward of New Bloomington; two grandsons, Nathan
and Presden Deal; a brother, Ronald (Brenda) Ruby of Marion; and two sisters,
Sara Ruby of Marion and Dorothy (Dan) Meyers of Richwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gehm-Ballinger
Funeral Home in Prospect. The Rev. Stephen S. Bull will officiate and burial
will be at the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral
home.
