Donald Jay "Donnypoo" Gibbs

Donald Jay "Donnypoo" Gibbs, 45, of Prospect died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003. He was employed by Trucco Construction in Powell and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed nature. He was a loving father and uncle. He was born Jan. 26, 1958, in Columbus and was predeceased by a niece, Valerie. He is survived by his parents, Jacob L. and Edith Gardner Gibbs of Columbus; two daughters, Melissa and Ashley of Athens; his former wife, Karen Gibbs of Athens; a special friend, Cindy Kelley of Lima; a niece, Brittney; a nephew, Jeffrey; three sisters, Laura Garcelon of Michigan, Christina Ott of Prospect and Robin Osborne of Columbus; and two brothers, David Gibbs of California and Richard Gibbs of Columbus. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Division of Wildlife, 1840 Belcher Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43224-1300. Cards will be available at the funeral home.
