July 28, 1988-Arrangements were handled by Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, for Earl Melvin Close, 76, 20678 Ohio 37, near Marseilles, who died Thursday morning at his residence.
Mr. Close was born June 14, 1912, in Delaware County, the son of Cleora and Florence Ortman Close. He was a retired machinist, having been employed with the former Huber Corporation. His first wife, the former Edna Chapman, preceded him in death. His second wife, Alma Corbin, whom he married Dec. 5,1971, survives. Also surviving are four sons. Dale Close. Marion, Earl and Dick Close, Florida, and Jerry Close, Cleveland; two daughters, Mrs. Allen (Sharon) Wyman, Florida, and Mrs. Barbara Harrah, Upper Sandusky; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Quality of Life hospice of Marion General Hospital. This is archival information that was taken from (perhaps old) paper documents.
