John Moyer
RICHWOOD - John J. Moyer, 68, died at 7 a.m. Thursday March 10, 1988 in Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
He was born May 25, 1919, in Richwood to Charles R. and Lloa Griffith Moyer. At the time of his death he made his home with his sister at 2321 U.S. 23 N., Delaware.
Before retiring, he was an engineer with the former Ohio Edison Power Plant, with the Bureau of Mines, Department of Interior, Washington, D.C.; and 1973-83, for East North Broadway United Meth-odist Church, Columbus. Since 1945, he was a member of Mount Carmel Lodge 303, F&AM.
During World War II he served as
first petty officer aboard the S.S. Tom McKim in the Merchant Marines.
Surviving are a son, John C. Moyer, El Paso, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. John (Rheba Jeanne) Rychel, Bay City, Mich., and Mrs. Walter (Leanna) Cereoli, Richwood; a brother, Glenn M. Moyer, Delaware; two Sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Henrietta) Cowgill, Richwood, and Mrs. Lester (Janice) Sparks, Delaware, with whom he made his home; six grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. A brother is deceased.
The service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Stofcheck Funeral Home by the Rev. William Hunter. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday and Sunday evening at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Lung Association or American Heart Association.
