Velma F. Trihaft
Velma Frances Trihaft, 80, 2725 Winnemac Pike, LaRue, died Sunday morning Sept 10, 1989 at Marion General Hospital.
She was bom in Marion Oct. 5, 1908, a daughter of William and Catherine Brown Clunk.
She married William H. Trihaft Dec. 30, 1931, and he died Sept. 28, 1978.
Mrs. Trihaft was a member of LaRue United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and Mary Martha Circle and had taught kindergarten Sunday school for more than 20 years. Active in Scouting, she had served as Girl Scout counselor, Cub Scout den mother, and she had been a 4-H adviser for many years. She had served on the Marion County Extension Service advisory council and as president for LaRue Parent-Teacher Organization. She was a
member of LaRue Senior Citizens, 20th Century Club and Good Friends Club.
Surviving are a son, Paul E. Trihaft, LaRue; a daughter, Mrs. Chester (Elizabeth) Kurtz, Bellefontaine; four sisters, Mrs. William (Mary) Berlo, Mansfield, Mrs. Milton (Blanche) Mcbinis, Southbury, Conn., Mrs. Robert (Grace) Briggs, Cardington, and Mrs. Walter (Hazel) Rinehart, Prospect; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased.
The service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at LaRue United Methodist Church with the Rev. John S. Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery near LaRue. Friends may call at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, after 2 p.m. and in the evening Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to LaRue UM Church.Velma F. Trihaft
