Mary Evelyn Showers, 74, 946 LaRue-Green Camp Road, LaRue, died at 2:25 pirn. Monday Feb 6, 1989 in Morrow County Hospital, Mount Gilead.
She was born July 6, 1914, in LaRue, to John and Mary Ann Lamb Shirea. On Jan. 9,1933, she married Norman D. Showers, who died Sept. 30,1984. Surviving are two sons, Robert N. Showers, Arcadia, Fla., and John R. Showers, Marysville, Calif.; six daughters, Patricia Van Dyke, Marengo, Mary Dale Hamm, Green Camp, Kaye Childree, Dublin, Calif., Pam Gubernath and Michele Reynolds, LaRue, and Marcia Mat-tix, Marion; a brother, Charles N. Shirea, LaRue; 34 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. Two brothers are deceased. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Stof-check Funeral Home, LaRue, by the Rev. Edwin K. Vance. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
