LARUE — Clara Mae Smith, 53, 10204 Rubins Road, died Friday March 5, 1993 at her residence.
Born Aug. 12,1939, in Marion, she was the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Hedrick Redmon. She married Gilbert E. Smith, Sr., on Jan. 22, 1955 and he survives. Also surviving area son, Gilbert E. Smith, Jr., Marion; twodaughters, Barb McGowan, Harpster, and Mrs. Scott (Mary) Gamble, New Bloomington; three brothers, Donald Redmon, Charles Redmon and Clyde Redmon, all of Marion; three sisters, Francis Davis, Indiana, Linda Murton, Marion, and Mrs. John (Carol) Sump, Clarinda, Iowa; two half-brothers, Rex Mattix and Richard Mattix, both Ashley; and six grandchildren. Two brothers are deceased. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and ran her own upholstery shop. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue. The Rev. Robert Jones will officiate with burial in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Ohio Lung Association.
