RICHWOOD — Kim M. Asbury, 35. Kinney Pike, died Sunday morning April 18, 1993 at Harriot Medical Center, Erie, Pa: following a two-month illness.
She was bom in Marion Nov. 28, 1957, the daughter of Don and Doris Randall Ransome, who survive in Richwood. Mrs. Asbury was a fourth-grade elementary teacher with Richwood Claibourne Elementary School of the North Union School District. She was a 1976 graduate of North Union High School, receiving her bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University and her master's from Wright State University. She was instrumental in starting the North Union Reading Recovery Program and was president ot the Ohio Education Association. An active member of First Baptist Church, she also was active in golfing and collected antiques. On June 26,1982, she marrriec Roy L. Asbury Jr., and he survives. Also surviving are a brother, Chris Ransome, Richwood; and maternal grandmother, Christa Randall Hastedt, Bartow, Ha. The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Tylor officiating. Burial will follow ir. Claibourne Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Speyer, Nevin Smith, Ken Burkhard, Brace Davis, J.D. Davis, Jim Inskeep. Honorary pallbearers are B ob N auman, Brad Latuar, Roger Brake and Neil Handler. Friends may call at Stofcheck Funeral Home 2-9 p.m. Tuesday.
