Alfred J. Bixler
RICHWOOD — Alfred J. Bixler, 79, died Wednesday Julu 26, 1995 at his residence.
Born Feb. 12, 1916, in Geneva, the son of the late Alfred J. and Lena, (McMahan) Bixler McCrary.
On June 20, 1938, in Richwood, he married the former Dorothy Wiley and she survives.
A, .graduate of Richwood High School, he was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II, and the Korean Conflict in the Reserves, retired from Ohio Edison after 35 years service, member of Central United Methodist Church, Mount Carmel Lodge #303 F & AM, Baccarat American Legion Post #40 and VFW Post #870, all Richwood.
He is also survived by a sister, Celia,Cudd, Richwood; and a half-brother, Paul McCrary, York Center. A sister, Jemima, is deceased.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Claibourne Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Cheney officiating. Veteran military graveside services, will be conducted by the Richwood Legion and VFW. Friends may call at Stofcheck Funeral Home 6-8 p.m. Friday, where Masonic services will be held i at 7.
Honorary pallbearers will be Amil Collins, Paul Cramer, William Temple, Pearl Johnson, Bill Nibert and Loy George.
