Merlin H. Nelson
RICHWOOD — Merlin H. Nelson, 72, died Thursday, 1995 at his residence,
He was born May 15, 1923 in Greenup, Ky, to the late Boone and Luemma (Williams) Nelson.
On June .12, 3948, in Greenup, Ky, he married the former Mary Ann Shuler and she survives.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War 11 and retired from Marion Power Shovel in 1985 after 32 years.
lie was a member of the Somersville Friends Church, VFW Post 870, Hardin County Coonhunters Club and the 20-Year Club from Marion Power Shovel.
Also surviving are two children, Danny Nelson, Richwood; and Linda Nelson, Richwood; two brothers, Henry Nelson, Mount Gilead, and George Nelson, Blue Creek; four sisters, Sara Perrin, Columbus, Cindy Speakman, Richwood, Norma Smith, Richwood, and Marie Fusson, Winter Park, Fla.; and two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter. A sister, Mary Daniel, is deceased.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at the Somersville Friends Church. Calling hours are 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home.
Burial is in the Byhalia Cemetery with the Rev. George Freer officiating.
Pallbearers are Chester Madden, John Monson, Matt Smith, Lloyd Speakman, Ivan Speakman and Luke Nelson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Somersville Friends Church Building Fund.
