RICHWOOD — Ruth L. Sprague, 70, died Saturday January 27, 1996 at Heartland Nursing Center, Marysville.
Born July 6, 1925, in Radnor, she was the daughter of Jesse L. and Maude (Kyle) Roberts. In 1964, she married Harold Sprague, and he died in 1970. She was retired from the Union County Extension office where she had worked 32 years. Mrs. Sprague was member of First United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women, choir and had served on numerous committees. She was active with 4-H, a member of Carpe Diem Club, Fortnightly Literary Club, Richwood Civic Center and its chorus. She is survived by a brother, Russell Roberts, Richwood; Wern Thomas; a nephew, two nieces, three great-nephews, seven great-nieces, three great-great-nephews and two great-great-nieces. She was preceded in death by a nephew. The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stofcheck Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilbur Boyer officiating. Burial is in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church and Tri-Care Hospice.
