Ernest M. Millington, 68, of Richwood died Monday, Aug. 19, 1996, at Marion General Hospital.
He was retired from Marion Power Shovel in 1992, after 35 years of service as a crane operator. He was a member of the 25 Year Club at Marion Power Shovel and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Richwood. He was bom Sept. 24,1927, in Marion to the late Harry E. and Minnie Cleo James Millington. He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Mae Norris Millington, whom he married Dec. 11,1960 in Marion; three sons, David E. Millington of Morral, Danny R. Millington of Marion and Phil W. Millington of Richwood; four grandchildren, Josh, Joey, Levi and Jessica; three sisters, Hulda Olson and Abbie Hamilton of Richwood and Reatha Schmelzer of Zepher Hills, Fla.; and one brother, Isiah Millington of Richwood. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Richwood. The Rev. Barb Stevens will officiate and burial will be at Claiboume Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Pallbearers will be Danny Millington, David Millington, Josh Millington, Joey Millington, Jeff Webb and Larry Schmelzer.
