MARGARET F. WITHERSPOON
Margaret Frances Witherspoon, 76, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997 at her Richwood residence. She had been in failing health for the past two years.
The daughter of the late Harry Madison and Idella Borden Barger was born October 19,1920 in Milford Center. June 10,1940 she married George W. Keigley who preceded her in death June 29, 1981.
She was a former co-owner of The Richwood Gazette, Georgie Porgie Restaurant and Ron's Dairy King and was a real estate agent. The member of the First United Methodist Church was a 52-year member of Mt. Carmel Chapter #42 OES, past matron and past Deputy Grand Matron of District #11. She was a harness horse fan and former standardbred owner. The avid North Union and Ohio State University sports fan was a member of the OSU Rebounders and the OSU Alumni Association.
Surviving are her husband Lewis Witherspoon, whom she married October 17, 1984; a son Ronald of Richwood; three daughters Susan Leeper of Richwood, Sherry Cornwell of Sarasota, Florida and Kathalee Brashares of Medina; a stepson G. William Keigley of Columbus; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons; four step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Harry W. Barger of Milford Center and a sister Thelma Cox of Campbell, CA. A brother and a sister are deceased.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 5 at Stofcheck Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Terry officiating. Burial was at
Claibourne Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Richwood Civic Center and/or the Richwood Emergency Squad Association.
