Julia Carter, 87, of Richwood died Tuesday, April 15,1997, at the Americare Nursing Center in Marion.
She was a homemaker. She attended the Essex United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was born Jan. 4,1910, in SL Jansteen, Netherlands, to the late Cyrillus and Mary Segers d'OUeslagers. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou Chapman, a brother and a sister. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Carter, whom she married Feb. 10, 1973, in Long Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Carol (Warren) Beecher of Elkhom, Wise.; two sons, Jack Theunnissen of Chicago Ridge, 111., and Dave Chapman of Long Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Essex United Methodist Church. The Rev. Carman Minarik will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
