Warren "Friday" Reece
NUFire EMSWarren "Friday" Reece, 70, of Richwood died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at Community Nursing Center in Marion.
He retired in 1989 after 31 years as a mechanic with the former Swartz Ford dealership and the Rose Ford dealership in Richwood. He then worked at the Parrott Implement Co. until 1995. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Baccarat Post 40 in Richwood and the 40 et 8 Voiture 857 in Marysville where he was a past Chef de Gare.
He was a dedicated member of the Richwood Fire Department and served the community for more than 50 years. When he retired in 1993 he was acting chief. He was a member of the Claibourne United Methodist Church.
He was born May 24, 1927, in Bucyrus to the late Mervin and Leona Wilson Reece and was predeceased by a brother, Glenn Reece.
He married Mabel Warner Livingston Nov. 10, 1973, at the Claibourne United Methodist Church and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Sally Jo Smith of Landrum, S.C., and Konni (Ted) Buskirk of Springfield; a son, Tim (Toni) Livingston of Richwood; three grandchildren, Amelia (Mike) Miller, Drew (Joy) Livingston and Anny Livingston; a great-grandson; three sisters, Violet (Stan) Howe of Oak Harbor, Carol (Bill) Reese of Richwood and Norma Jean Edmonds of Richwood; a brother, Jim (Mar-lene) Reece of Richwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Glenn Decker will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery, where a veteran's service will be conducted by the Richwood American Legion and VFW posts. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home where Union County 40 et 8 Voiture 857 will conduct ceremonies at 3:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Bill Moore, John Butcher, Harold Tillman, Jack Payne, Jim Wiley and John Robert Livingston. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Meddles, Bill Davis, Bob Jerew, Bill Jerew and Loy George.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood Fire Department and EMS or to a charity of the donor's choice.
