Leta Leola Maugans
Leta Leola Maugans, 94, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, at her home near Magnetic Springs.
She was a retired registered nurse and had worked with the Red Cross and the former polio foundation in Magnetic Springs. She attended the Magnetic Springs United Methodist Church and the church women's society and was a member of the Mink Street Good Neighbors Club and the Magnetic Springs Mothers Service Club.
She was born at her current home Jan. 14, 1903, to the late Herschel and Olio Ferguson Love. She married Fay E. Maugans Sept. 26, 1926, and he died June 16, 1975. She was also predeceased by her only son, William Maugans, and a granddaughter, Deidre Alexander.
She is survived by two grandsons, William and Keith Maugans; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Scott Nichols will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
