Richard L. Hines
Richard L. Hines, 53, of Richwood died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at Memorial Hospital of Union County.
He was employed for more than 20 years at the Whirlpool Corporation Marion where he had served on the design team that put in place the practice of team manufacturing and served on the interview team for hiring and train-ing new employees. He was a 1961 graduate of Byhalia-York High School and was an active and dedicated member of the Essex United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent and chairman of the administrative council and was a Sunday School teacher.
He was a former member of the North Union School Board, former director with the Richwood Independent Fair, was active with the KAPOW program and had served as a 4-H advisor and coached youth baseball and soft-ball. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Kenton to the late Dewey and Christine Allen Hines and was predeceased by a brother, Tony Hines, and a sister, Janice Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam Davis Hines whom he married April 23, 1966, at the Essex United Methodist Church; a son, Clint (Nicole) Hines of Columbus; a daughter, Andrea (Mike) Cutlip of Brunswick; two brothers, Jack (Anna Mae) Hines of Peoria and Jim (Rita) Hines of Plain City; and two sisters, Nancy (Larry) Davis and Diane Hines of Richwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Essex United Methodist Church. The Rev. Carman Minarik will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Tom, Tim, Chris, Matt and John Hines, Eric Temple, Rex Davis and Richard Bagger.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
