Robert L. Coder Sr.
Robert L. Coder Sr., 66, of Richwood died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a short illness.
A 1951 graduate of Raymond High School, he retired in 1993 from the Conrail Railroad System after 42 years of service. He began his railroad career with the Erie Lackawanna Railroad and was a member of the railroad union. He was an active member of and enjoyed the Richwood Civic Center's men's group. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, running and bicycling.
He was born July 25, 1931, in Union County to the late William "Harry" and Ethel Mae Hatfield Coder.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Meeks Kreamer Coder, whom he married July 23, 1987 in Richwood; two sons, Thomas (Tammy) Coder of Mar-low, Okla., and Robert L. (Lorena) Coder Jr. of Laurelville; three daughters, Angela Coder (Bobby Smith) of Boise, Idaho, Joyce Coder of Richwood and Christine (Phil) Combs of Georgetown, Ind.; three stepdaughters, Janet Kreamer (Barry) Dunn of Milford Center, Susan Kreamer (Denny) Shaner of Wapakoneta and Tamara Kreamer (Mike) Stevenson of Brookston, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two brothers, George (Loni) Coder of West Mansfield and Donald (Roberta) Coder of Marysville; and a sister, Barbara Moffett of Marysville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate and burial will be at the Raymond Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood Civic Center's men's group, 235 Grove St., Richwood, Ohio 43344.
