Ruth M. Rayl
Ruth M. Rayl, 70, of Richwood died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a short illness.
A graduate of the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse and had worked at Marion General Hospital, Memorial Hospital of Union County and the Whirlpool Corporation in Marion. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in LaRue and had attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Chruch in Marysville. She enjoyed traveling and music.
She was born Sept. 26, 1927 in Wheeling, W.Va., to the late William and Betty Kasun Madison and was predeceased by a daughter, Beth Price, and a grandson, Josh Rowlinson.
She is survived by her husband, John E. Rayl whom she married Nov. 23, 1949; two sons, Tim (Deb) Rayl of Marysville and John W. Rayl of Fredericksburg, Va.; four daughters, Julie (Danny) Pompa of Sylvania, Ruthie (Marty) Lutz of Greenville, S.C., Jackie Rowlinson of Marion and Luann (Rick) Cunningham of Marysville; 12 grandchildren, Nicki Hannah and Coree Price, Jennie and Samantha Rayl, Jill and Gabby Lutz, Maggie Rowlinson and Matt, Mike, Allie and Joey Cunningham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The Rev. Barry Bentz will officiate and a private burial will be held at a later time at St. Mary's Cemetery in Marion. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tricare Hospice of Union County, 232 N. Main St., Marysville, or the S.I.D.S. Foundation in care of the funeral home.
