RICHWOOD — David J. Avenius, age 78, of Richwood, died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at the County Manor Nursing Home in Tenafly, N.J.
He was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Queens, N.Y., to T. David and Elizabeth (Bischoff) Avenius. On May 30, 1953, in Queens, he married the former Paula Reeley; she survives. Also surviving is daughter Nancy Avenius of Tenafly. He was the vice president of trusts and estates for the Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. in New York City. He was a graduate of the Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., and the Harvard Business College. He also attended Essex United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27,1998, at 1 p.m. at the Price Cemetery. Minister will be the Rev. Winnie Bateson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Essex United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood is in charge of arrangements.
